Consilience 3_Dan Brown and NKT cell

Recently, NKT cell is found to be of two types and two opposite functions in antitumor effects. Type 1 NKT cell (Valpha24, Jalpha18 in human) consists of inhibitory effect to tumor cell whereas type 2 (also CD1d-restricted) undermines immunosurveillence against tumor cell. This embodies the Yin-Yan theory in immunology again and reminds me of the matter-antimatter issue. Another startling example of consilience between different fields of sciences. Dan Brown's fiction "Angels and Demons" not only figures out the imaginary application of the antimatter research but also brings this issue into humanity. It's again the old saying that fortune begets bane. Type 1 and type 2, angels and demons.
